Five players who could move to MLS this summer
The summer transfer window is fast approaching and it is set to be another busy few months on the transfer front.
The biggest clubs in world football are expected to spend huge sums of money yet again, while MLS teams are also set to dip into the market in search of the biggest ageing stars in the game.
The MLS has been a reliable destination for veteran stars over the past decade and Lionel Messi is currently the biggest name playing in the American top flight.
Below, FootballTransfers lists five players who could join Messi in the MLS this summer.

Luka Modric (Real Madrid)
Luka Modric has become a bit-part player at Real Madrid this season and his limited role at the Santiago Bernabeu has fuelled rumours of an exit in 2024.
A return to Croatia has been mooted as a possibility, although moving to the MLS is currently regarded as more likely. Messi has reportedly identified Modric as a key target for Inter Miami as the David Beckham-owned club continues to snatch the best ageing talents from the European game.

Olivier Giroud (Milan)
Olivier Giroud, 37, is due to become a free agent this summer, with his existing contract at AC Milan set to expire at the end of June.
A departure is considered to be almost a 100% certainty and LA Galaxy have emerged as primary contenders to sign the veteran Frenchman, with Giroud verbally agreeing to join the MLS giants, as per reports. He is expected to join LA Galaxy in July.
Neymar (Al-Hilal)
Neymar recently admitted that he would love to play with Messi once again, which has sparked rumours of a summer move to Inter Miami.
The Brazil international only joined Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Hilal last year, but he has barely played due to injury. An MLS transfer could well be on the cards as a result.
Kevin de Bruyne (Man City)
Manchester City midfielder Kevin de Bruyne is a summer transfer target for both the Saudi Pro League and the MLS, with the Belgian’s future at the Etihad Stadium currently unknown.
De Bruyne has just over a year left on his current deal at Man City, but the possibility of him leaving Pep Guardiola’s side this summer is fairly large and MLS clubs are said to be interested.
Robert Lewandowski (Barcelona)
Robert Lewandowski has been a reliable goalscorer since joining Barcelona, but the 35-year-old could leave the Spanish giants this summer, despite the fact his existing deal runs until 2026.
The January arrival of Vitor Roque may eventually see Lewandowski demoted to second-choice at Camp Nou and MLS clubs have been tipped to pursue a move this summer.
