The price Man Utd can sign Gakpo for in January
Manchester United have a good chance of signing PSV and Netherlands star Cody Gakpo in January if an offer of €50 million is tabled.
Man Utd have been chasing Gakpo ever since they hired Erik ten Hag as manager this summer.

Indeed, they were close to signing the PSV attacker before the start of the season but couldn’t get a deal over the line.
Gakpo has subsequently showed just how good he is for both club and country.
He had 13 goals and 17 assists from just 24 games for PSV in the first half of the season, and has added another three strikes for the Netherlands at the World Cup.
Man Utd are now preparing making a new move in 2023.
What did Romano say about Gakpo?
“Gakpo has been incredible in the group stages with the Dutch national team, scoring one goal in each of those three games. He was also key for the Netherlands as they beat the USA to set up a quarter-final tie with Argentina,” Romano wrote in his CaughtOffside column.
“Manchester United wanted him in the summer and they are still in talks with people close to the player. It’s not just them, though, with other clubs also showing an interest.
“PSV’s plan had been to keep Gakpo this January and then sell in the summer, but if a €50m bid comes in in January there is a chance for him to leave. I’m told there is a very serious chance of a move, so keep an eye on him in the next few weeks.”
Gakpo was left bitterly disappointed by the failure of his Man Utd transfer in the summer.
"In the end the deal didn't go through, which was a shame," he told the Times.
"For me and my development, and because Manchester United is one of the biggest clubs in the world, but also for PSV, because to transfer a player to Man Utd is a good thing for the club."
Gakpo is next in action on Friday when Netherlands take on Argentina in the quarter-finals of the World Cup.
