Paul Macdonald is a writer, journalist, editor and co-founder of the FootballTransfers website.

Starting out covering La Liga for Goal.com in 2008, Paul watched Pep Guardiola's Barcelona side become the best team in the world, winning the treble in that season. Paul progressed through the ranks at Goal, becoming Deputy Editor on the International edition before becoming Head of Planning for the site.

This involved taking a team to the World Cup in Brazil in 2014, with the most digital journalists on the ground than any other publication.

Paul has also covered the Copa America in Chile as well as Euro 2016. In 2017 he established FootballTransfers, which is now one of the largest and fastest-growing websites dedicated to the football transfer market in the world.
