Karan Tejwani

Karan Tejwani is a respected football writer and acclaimed author with a wealth of experience in the media industry. Tejwani has carved out a successful writing career, being published on a string of major outlets including The Guardian, These Football Times, Sport360, Reach PLC titles and more.

Over the course of his career, Karan has reported on the game’s biggest competitions and interviewed many prominent figures such as Edwin van der Sar, Lucy Bronze and Ronald de Boer, amongst others. In 2018, Karan co-founded Football Chronicle, where he was the lead editor. He worked with more than 70 different collaborators from around the world, including writers and designers, to tell football stories in long form and provide depth and expert insight.

Just two years after that, with a team of 20, Karan jointly oversaw the production of Iberia Chronicles, a book focusing on Spanish and Portuguese football, released in October 2020. Tejwani is also now an author in his own right, having written Wings of Change, which came out in November 2020 and focused on Red Bull’s rise in football over the previous 15 years. The book told the story of energy drink brand’s football involvement - the successes and failures - across various countries ranging from Germany to Austria, the United States to Brazil and beyond.

Soon after that in April 2022, Glorious Reinvention - focusing on Ajax’s re-emergence in the 21 st Century - hit the bookshelves. Karan’s latest work was born out of a passion for watching Ajax, which came about because they were the only Dutch team on television at the time. It also helped that while this passion was in its early stages, a very good Ajax side beat Real Madrid 4-1 at the Santiago Bernabeu - Karan’s favourite club game ever.

The release of the book coincided with Erik ten Hag’s move from Ajax to Manchester United and British publications such as BBC, talkSPORT, The Athletic, Manchester Evening News and many more turned to Karan for expert ten Hag insight to include in their print, radio and TV coverage.

Tejwani has been with FootballTransfers since April 2022, bringing expert knowledge about Dutch and European football in particular to the team.
