Real Madrid prepare €840m Mbappe deal and pick France star’s squad number
Real Madrid continue to make progress towards a deal to secure Kylian Mbappe from PSG, with the Bernabeu club having already drawn up an astonishing contract for the France superstar.
Mbappe has made no secret of his unhappiness with things at PSG but has indicated that he wants to remain at the club until June 2024, when his contract will expire.
At that point, he will become a free agent and will have the capacity to negotiate with whichever club he chooses.

PSG, though, will try to sell him if he does not take up an option in his contract before 31 July that would see his deal extended until 2025 – a clause that he is intent on ignoring.
All this suits Real Madrid, who are happy with the situation as it is. Although they will have to wait a year to sign Mbappe, it takes out the need to spend big on a transfer fee.
Instead, they have drawn up a massive contract for the player, according to Defensa Central, which reports that Real Madrid have readied a six-year contract for the player that will be worth €30 million per year.
Although this is significantly less than he is paid at PSG, he will also receive a €20m transfer bonus per season, plus an estimated €90m advertising revenue this season. Multiplied over the duration of his six-year stay, that is worth an eye-watering €840m.

Mbappe’s Real Madrid squad number
Real Madrid are so confident of landing Mbappe, they have already earmarked the No.9 jersey for the France star.
This would represent a significant change for Mbappe, who has become synonymous with the No.7 shirt since moving to PSG, but Vini Jr already has that number reserved in the Real Madrid squad.
