Real Madrid and Tottenham target Gimenez to fetch RECORD fee
Feyenoord have set a steep asking price for Santiago Gimenez, according to a report.
The Mexican sensation has hit like a bomb since arriving in Rotterdam. Already impressive as Feyenoord won the Eredivisie last term, the 22-year-old has taken things to another level this calendar year, and particularly this season.
With 15 goals and three assists in 10 games - including a brace on his Champions League debut - to his name, the striker boasts a record that can rival anyone's in Europe, including that of Bundesliga sensation Serhou Guirassy. Like the Guinean, Gimenez's spectacular form has earned him links to some elite clubs, including Real Madrid.

In the Premier League, Arsenal and Chelsea were previously said to be keen on him, while more recently Tottenham have emerged as his most likely next destination in their bid to find a replacement for Harry Kane.
Feyenoord will be loathe to lose their star man in the middle of the season and to prevent exactly this from happening, they have set an astronomical asking price.
Kane this, Guirassy that... 😒

Eredivisie record
That's at least what 90min claims. While Fabrizio Romano has stated that it would currently require €45 million to prise him away from Feyenoord, this report asserts that the Dutch side have set an asking price of more than double this fee.
It is claimed that Feyenoord have no intention to let the Mexican walk in January and will only entertain offers in excess of the Eredivisie's current transfer record, which Manchester United set in 2022 when they shelled out €100m on then-Ajax star Antony.

The above-mentioned report also states that Real Madrid are unlikely to make a move as Gimenez is not considered a priority target, with Kylian Mbappe currently taking up that role, while beefing up the full-back position is also considered a more pressing need.
