Jude Bellingham has done it again.

When Real Madrid needed a hero, the young Englishman stepped up - once again. Since his €103 million move from Borussia Dortmund, Bellingham has been nothing short of a revelation at the Santiago Bernabeu.

He again came to the rescue to spare Los Blancos' blushes when it looked as though the record Champions League winners would be held to a draw by competition newbies Union Berlin.

The Spanish giants had dominated for the entirety of the match, but they were unable to break through the Germans' resolute defence, expertly marshalled by shock summer signing Leonardo Bonucci, who put in an outstanding shift before being taken off in the 80th minute.

But cometh the hour, cometh the man.

Another late winner

With Real beginning to get desperate, they won a corner deep into stoppage time. It was played short to Federico Valverde on the edge of the box. The Uruguayan midfielder took a shot, which took a wild deflection and fell right at the feet of Bellingham, who just needed to tuck it home.

It wasn't a classic goal but it was enough for Real to avoid humiliation at the hands of Champions League debutants Union, who are, it must be said, just delighted to be there.

This strike takes Bellingham's tally for the season to six, with half of these goals coming after the 80th minute. The Englishman also scored game-winning strikes against Celta Vigo in the 81st minute and against Getafe in the 95th minute. The latter was his fourth successive LaLiga game with a goal, equaling a record set by none other than former Galactico Cristiano Ronaldo.

His goal against Getafe prompted Madrid-based paper AS to nickname the Spanish top flight "La Liga de Bellingham" - the Bellingham League. Soon, we might hear "La liga de Campeones de Bellingham" more often.
