Romano reveals new Chelsea transfer target and promises Caicedo ‘ATTACK’
Fabrizio Romano has revealed that Chelsea continue to expand their search for new midfielders, despite closing in on a move for Brighton star Moises Caicedo.
The Blues are close to securing personal terms with Ecuador international Caicedo, who could become their first major signing of the summer after teenager Kendry Paez agreed to join the club from Independiente del Valle.

Chelsea, though, are set to lose Mateo Kovacic to Manchester City while N’Golo Kante is set to join Saudi Pro League side Al-Ittihad, so there is a need for multiple options in midfield, while there is also the possibility that the Caicedo deal breaks down over Brighton’s €117 million (£100m) asking price.
Romano has revealed on YouTube that Chelsea are ready to go on the “attack” for the South American, who they appear to have beaten Arsenal to, next week.

Chelsea show interest in Gabri Veiga
Chelsea have also started to make moves with regards a new midfield target.
The transfer specialist has said that the Blues have sounded out Celta Vigo midfielder Gabri Veiga, who has primarily been linked with Liverpool but has attracted interest from a string of big clubs thanks to his performances in LaLiga over the course of the last year.
Chelsea’s interest in the 21-year-old is not well advanced. Indeed, they have simply asked for information on the player and his release clause, which stands at just €40 million – a figure that looks promising value for a player whose Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) has increased more than 10 times to €16m from being just €1m in May 2022.
The Blues will have learned about the payment terms and structure of Veiga, while they also may have sounded out Celta about a possible discount for the versatile midfielder who has been capped for Spain U21.
Although Liverpool have also been linked with Gabri Veiga, their interest is no more developed than Chelsea’s.
