Which teams have spent the most on transfers this summer?
Chelsea have spent the most money on transfers of any club in world football during the 2024 summer transfer window.
The Blues lead the standings in both 2022 and 2023, splashing €294m and €464.1m in successive summers, and they have continued that trend this year with a €261m outlay so far.
Todd Boehly's side have spent bought Joao Felix, Pedro Neto, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Mike Penders, Omari Kellyman, Marc Guiu, Renato Veiga, Caleb Wiley, Aaron Anselmino and Filip Jorgensen, not counting the over €60m they are set to pay for Estevao Willian, who will join next year.
Brighton & Hove Albion have racked up the second-highest spending tally so far this summer, with the Seagulls purchasing Georgino Rutter, Brajan Gruda, Mats Wieffer, Ferdi Kadioglu, Matt O'Riley, Yankuba Minteh, Ibrahim Osman and Malick Junior Yalcouye for a total of €231.2m.
Atletico Madrid's €185m outlay puts them third, having made the most expensive transfer of the summer with their €75m capture of Julian Alvarez from Manchester City, along with deals for Conor Gallagher (€42m) Robin Le Normand (€34.5m) and Alexander Sorloth (€32m).
Aston Villa have spent the fourth-highest amount, parting with a whopping €176.2 million by buying Amadou Onana from Everton (€59.35m), Ian Maatsen from Chelsea (€44.5m), Cameron Archer from Sheffield United (€16.65m), Jaden Philogene from Hull (€16m), Samuel Iling-Junior from Juventus (€14m), Lewis Dobbin from Everton (€11.8m), Enzo Barrenechea from Juventus (€8m) and Ross Barkley from Luton (€5.9m).
Paris Saint-Germain's outlay of €169.92m puts them fifth after signing Desire Doue, Joao Neves, Willian Pacho and Matvey Safonov.
Manchester United have spent the sixth-most of any team this summer, with the signings of Matthijs de Ligt (€45m) and Noussair Mazraoui (€15m) from Bayern Munich, along with Leny Yoro (€62m) and Joshua Zirkzee's (€42.5m) arrivals costing the club a total of €164.5m.
Tottenham sit seventh, having spent €148.85m on Dominic Solanke (€64.3m), Archie Gray (€41.25m), Wilson Odebert (€29.3m) and Lucas Bergvall (€10m), along with Korean youngster Min-hyeok Yang, who will join in January for €4m.
West Ham are eighth, having spent €144.4m on Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Max Kilman, Crysenscio Summerville, Niclas Fullkrug and Luis Guilherme, as well as Guido Rodriguez and Wes Foderingham on free transfers and Jean-Clair Todibo on loan.

Bayern Munich come in ninth in the spending charts following the signings of Michael Olise from Crystal Palace (€53m), Joao Palhinha from Fulham (€51m), Hiroki Ito from Stuttgart (€23.5m), Bryan Zaragoza from Grenada (€13m), Nestory Irankunda from Adelaide (€3.4m) and Armindo Sieb from Greuther Furth (€1.5m) for a combined €142m.
Olympique Lyon are tenth. The Ligue 1 side have purchased eight players worth €134.29m in a bid to strengthen their team after a disappointing season, with Moussa Niakhate and Orel Mangala arriving from Nottingham Forest (€31.9m and €23.4m, respectively), Ernest Nuamah from Molenbeek (€28.5m) Georges Mikautadze from Metz (€18.5m), Said Benrahma from West Ham (€14.4m), Abner from Real Betis (€8m), Mama Balde from Troyes (€6m) and Duje Caleta-Car from Southampton (€3.59m) have been signed.
