Manchester United pair Anthony Elanga and Dean Henderson are both bound for Nottingham Forest according to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano.

United need to sell players in order to buy any more this summer, having burned up most of their £120 million budget with Mason Mount and Andre Onana, and they could make another £15m back with Elanga.

The Sweden winger impressed under Ole Gunnar Solksjaer two seasons ago, but has found his first-team opportunities at a premium since Erik ten Hag took charge.

Henderson spent last season on loan with Forest, meanwhile, and although they would like to borrow the goalkeeper again, a permanent deal for the €15.5m (£13.4m)-rated man will be more likely next summer if he impresses.

Forest 'submit two bids'

"Nottingham Forest have submitted two bids to Manchester United" Romano tweeted. "Loan deal proposal for Dean Henderson and permanent deal proposal for Elanga. Forest want to get both deals done after closing in on Ola Aina free transfer."

Forest signed some 23 players on promotion to the Premier League last season, spending more than £140m. It was a bet which worked, with the club finishing four points clear of relegation last year.

They have been slower in the transfer market this summer, making Chris Wood's loan from Newcastle permanent for £15m.

United have been busier. As well as the arrivals of Mount and Onana from Chelsea and Inter Milan respectively, the club expect to conclude the signing of Zion Suzuki from Urawa Red Diamonds for £5m, the Japanese youngster to act as Onana's understudy.

Rasmus Hojlund has emerged as their most likely new No.9, meanwhile. The Atalanta youngster reportedly agreed personal terms in May, but the two clubs are yet to agree on a transfer fee.
