PSG step up Hojlund hijack – should Man Utd be worried?
Manchester United’s chase to sign Atalanta forward Rasmus Hojlund promises to be complicated by PSG – but perhaps not as much as the Old Trafford side might have feared.
The Red Devils are still in the market for a permanent replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, who left the club in 2022, and they have turned their thoughts towards Hojlund, who has been touted as the ‘next Erling Haaland’.
Unfortunately for Erik ten Hag, United’s interest has coincided with Kylian Mbappe’s clash with PSG, which has seen the France superstar frozen out of first-team matters at Parc des Princes for the moment at least.

PSG have also turned their focus on the Denmark international, albeit as a Plan B should they fail to land Harry Kane.
According to L’Equipe, the 20-year-old has agreed personal terms with the Ligue 1 champions. He also has an agreement in place with Man Utd.
The French side have stepped up their attempts to hijack the deal by offering €50 million to Atalanta for the player. This is likely to be knocked back by the Serie A club, who have already had a €50m plus €10m proposal from Man Utd on their table.

Man Utd still in pole for Hojlund
So far, there should be little to worry Man Utd. By lowballing Atalanta, PSG have indicated that they are not – currently – too serious about signing Hojlund.
Les Parisiens are aware that their Italian counterparts have hopes of receiving a huge transfer fee for the player. They have publicly put a €100m price tag on Hojlund, although privately it is believed that something in the region of €70-80m might get them to part with a player they only signed last summer for €17m.
In any case, the Denmark international is already known to have a preference to move to Old Trafford, even if PSG offer him more money.
