Man Utd summer transfer plans already in doubt

Manchester United’s summer transfer plans have hit an obstacle as they are feeling the heat from financial regulations.

The Red Devils have had a positive start to life under manager Erik ten Hag and will want to continue that not the summer as they hope to strengthen their squad even further.

Ten Hag has made several signings since his arrival and will want to add more to take his squad to the next level, having already improved the team significantly.

However, United may now face issues in that regard as UEFA’s Financial Fair Play regulations may halt them from completing the business they would want to complete.

It’s been made clear to Ten Hag that he will have to be efficient with his transfer business as United won’t have the freedom to spend what they like.

The club are feeling the pressure with regards to UEFA’s FFP rules and will need to balance the books.

Manchester United want to sign a new forward and will have to spend big to get a top quality player in, but they may not be able to get the target they like.

They are targeting the likes of Harry Kane, Benjamin Sesko, Victor Osimhen and Goncalo Ramos – all of whom would cost big fees and may not fall within the club’s financial settings.

It may come down to United having to sell to buy players and a few names may need to leave the club in the summer to enable them to purchase new ones.

The squad is already thin enough as it is and they may not be able to recoup big amounts for names who currently don't figure in Ten Hag’s plans.
