Conte responds to Eriksen’s complaints as January transfer rumours increase
Antonio Conte has responded to Christian Eriksen’s complaints over a lack of playing time as reports of a January transfer continue to swirl.
Eriksen only joined the Nerazzurri at the start of 2020 from Tottenham Hotspur but has struggled badly to win over his Italian coach.
The Denmark international is unable currently to break into the first team and complained earlier this week to TV2 that “this isn’t what I dreamed of” and that “when the transfer window opens we will see if something happens or not”.
The former Chelsea manager has now responded to Eriksen’s complaints.

“All the choices I make are always and only for the good of Inter, and not for the good of the single player,” he stated.
“Players must be functional to an idea and a project in order to be competitive at national and international level.
“The modern footballer must be fast, strong, resistant. I take the technique for granted if you join a club like Inter.”
Eriksen has mostly been deployed in the hole in a 3-4-1-2 formation, behind forwards Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez.
But he has made little impact, scoring just one Serie A goal in 22 appearances.
