Hasenhuttl admits every Southampton player has his price in January

Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl has admitted that if the right offer comes in for one of his in-form players in January then the club will always consider it. 

Hasenhuttl’s side are performing admirably well in this season’s Premier League and could move into third place in the top flight with a win on Sunday. 

However, good performances have brought attention to key players. In particular, striker Danny Ings could be subject to an offer in January when he enters the final 18 months of his contract. 

Yet Hasenhuttl hasn’t shown a huge amount of worry over the prospect of losing his most important players and has instead accepted that Southampton will always have to consider offers from bigger clubs.

“It seems rapid that the next transfer window comes – it seems like yesterday that I spoke about the last one, which was closed a little bit later.

“I am never scared of any transfer window because this is the way we go.

“When we are performing well and other clubs are coming, wanting to take our players and give you the money you want, then you always discuss it.

“We are never a club at the highest in Europe, this will never be, but we are also not a selling club.

“If it is necessary, we have to. If players don’t extend their contracts, and they are free and have to go, then they go.”
