Abraham: Leaving Chelsea for Roma was the right choice
Tammy Abraham insists he made the right choice leaving Chelsea for Roma in the summer.
And the 24-year-old believes he can play himself into Gareth Southgate's England World Cup squad if he continues to deliver goals in Rome.
Abraham swapped Stamford Bridge for the Stadio Olimpico in August in a deal worth €40 million as new manager Jose Mourinho assembled his squad.

The centre forward has no regrets about the move after scoring four times in his first 10 appearances for the Italian club.
He said: "I chose Rome and it clearly turned out to be the right choice. I hope this is just the beginning, I will keep pushing."
Abraham struggled to find a regular place under Thomas Tuchel at Chelsea and managed just six appearances in the German's new-look set-up from January 2021.
So when the opportunity to work with Mourinho at Roma presented itself, Abraham decided it best to leave London with a decent record, scoring 30 goals in 82 games.
What about his England chances?
Now I play every week and I will improve.
- Despite his initial disappointment about not making last summers England Euro 2020 squad, Abraham attributes his new life in Italy as the reason he can be optimistic about his future international chances.
He said: "The 2022 World Cup? I was disappointed when I was excluded from the team for the European Championship, but now I play every week and I will improve."
Mourinho's great start
Abraham's fine form has helped Jose Mourinho to his best-ever start as manager at a club.
The Portuguese manager has won nine of his 11 games in Rome and his side sit fourth in Serie A.
His team travel to Turin on Sunday evening as Roma take on a struggling Juventus side yet to get going this season.
