Is Smith-Rowe set be Arsenal's greatest ever youngster?

As the ball broke for Emile Smith Rowe on Sunday afternoon, the young Arsenal star only had one thought on his mind.

And as his right-footed strike found the back of the net, he sprinted in celebration towards the adoring Emirates crowd feasting on their admiration.

Smith Rowe became just the fourth Arsenal player 21 or younger to score in three successive Premier League games.

Smith Rowe failed to make Gareth Southgate's England squad for the final two World Cup qualifiers but is undoubtedly knocking on the international door.

If he continues to score goals and put in man of the match performances for the Gunners, it won't be long before Southgate can no longer ignore the young Arsenal wonderkid.

It's hard to place exactly where Arsenal are at the moment but if they continue to win football matches and push for a European spot, they may just hold on to Smith-Rowe in the summer.

But it remains to be seen if Arteta's side has just taken advantage of a kind run of fixtures.

Already this season they have been well beaten by title challengers Chelsea and Manchester City and come up against an in-form Liverpool in their next fixture.

There's no doubt the big boys of the Premier League will be keeping an eye on Smith Rowe for the rest of the season and enquiries will be made next summer if he continues this rich vein of form.
