Amad Diallo Traore: ‘New Messi’ set to join Man Utd this month
Atalanta wonderkid Amad Diallo Traore – compared by Papu Gomez to Lionel Messi – is set to join Manchester United this month as planned despite the pleas of Gian Piero Gasperini.
Man Utd completed the signing of the 18-year-old in October in a deal that could eventually be worth over €40 million.
It was planned for Diallo to move to Manchester this month but, on Saturday, Atalanta coach Gasperini said that he hoped the youngster could remain in Bergamo on loan until the end of the season.
“The transfer market? We are fine, the club is attentive,” Gasperini said.
“There is an internal solution within the club that could be very interesting, even if the team is fine: it is Amad Diallo.
“It is clear that he is going to Manchester United, but he could still remain here for a few months with us. I like him a lot, he’s only 18. I’d like him to stay until June, obviously it depends on his club.”

However, Football Transfers understands that Man Utd have no intentions of allowing Diallo to finish the season at Atalanta and that he will move to Old Trafford in January as planned.
The teenage winger is regarded as one of the most exciting youngsters in world football and was compared to Lionel Messi by his Atalanta team-mate Papu Gomez.
“He’s a future star, trust me. During our training, he seems like [Lionel] Messi! You can’t stop him!,” said Papu, who is himself set to leave Atalanta this month.
The Ivory Coast attacker has made five senior appearances since debuting for Atalanta last season, scoring one goal.
