Are you watching Madrid? The Real Jovic is back
Luka Jovic has enjoyed a dream return to Eintracht Frankfurt after scoring twice as a substitute in his first game back at the club.
The Real Madrid forward returned to Frankfurt on loan for the remainder of the 2020/21 season earlier this week and made an immediate impact on Sunday evening.
He came on in the 62nd minute of Frankfurt’s home match against Schalke with the scores level at 1-1.
It took the 23-year-old just 10 minutes to restore Frankfurt’s lead before he added a second goal in stoppage time to make certain of the three points.
Big things were expected of the Serbian when he joined Madrid for €60 million in the summer of 2019.
However, he has struggled badly in the Spanish capital and he scored just two goals in 27 appearances last season.
This term has been even worse as he was granted only 149 minutes of La Liga action without scoring.
Madrid agreed to loan him back to Frankfurt where he enjoyed an outstanding two years between 2017 and 2019, scoring 36 goals in 75 games in all competitions.
The ex-Red Star Belgrade graduate seems to have instantly settled back into his old surroundings.
