Odion Ighalo is on the brink of signing for Saudi Arabian club Al-Shabab.

Ighalo only returned to his parent club Shanghai Shenhua earlier this week after spending a year on loan at Manchester United.

But the 31-year-old is set to move on immediately as, according to widespread reports, the Chinese club have agreed a deal to sell him to Al-Shabab.

The transfer is pending a successful medical and the striker agreeing personal terms.

Ighalo fulfilled his life-long dream by joining Man Utd in January 2020 and had a good impact at the club in the second half of last campaign.

He scored five goals in 19 appearances, which led to United extending his loan deal for another six months.

However, he received few opportunities this campaign and he bid farewell to the club last Wednesday.

“It’s so hard to see this dream come to an end,” Odion wrote on Twitter.

“To the manager I say thank you for trusting and believing in me when many did not.

“To my amazing team-mates I will miss you guys, it was always fun and I look forward to training and spending time with all of you again.

“And I pray we win the league and FA Cup this year.”
