Giroud to Juventus? Transfer chief offers striker update
Juventus transfer chief Fabio Paratici has admitted that the club are exploring opportunities to sign an attacker this month.
FootballTransfers understands that the Bianconeri will sign a striker before the end of the window.
Juventus are short on options up-front as, with Paulo Dybala currently injured, Cristiano Ronaldo and Alvaro Morata are the only natural attackers available to coach Andrea Pirlo.
This has led to Dejan Kulusevski being deployed out of position for the last two matches, including Sunday’s 2-0 win over Bologna.
Paratici is understood to be negotiating with Sassuolo to sign Gianluca Scamacca, but Pirlo is believed to prefer Chelsea veteran Giroud.
Scamacca is more accessible as Chelsea are reluctant to let Giroud leave mid-season – despite the fact his contract expires in June.
Before the game against Bologna, Paratici did say that Juventus are exploring potential targets in attack.
“We have no needs, but this transfer window is made up of opportunities and we’ll see what will happen,” he told reporters.
Other forwards to be linked with Juventus this month include Fernando Llorente, Graziano Pelle and Leonardo Pavoletti.
