Pogba at the peak of his powers – Solskjaer praises wantaway Man Utd star
Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba is playing to his full capacity, according to manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
Pogba has frequently been criticised during his stint with the Red Devils that he cuts a lacklustre figure in midfield.
However, he fired the club to the top of the Premier League on Tuesday thanks to a fine volley. It was the only goal in Man Utd’s 1-0 win over Burnley.
After the game, Solskjaer’ lent his backing to Pogba, whose off-field activities have also come under the microscope.
As recently as December, agent Mino Raiola caused a stir when he indicated that the World Cup winner is “unhappy” and “needs to change team”.

With his deal up in 2022, Pogba had been linked with a potential January move to Juventus. His recent good form has quelled such speculation but it remains possible that he departs in the summer.
Solskjaer, though, is pleased to see the 27-year-old in such strong shape and indicated that he still counts on him as United hunt the title.
‘Pogba a big player for us’ – Ole
“I’ve always said that Pogba is a big player for us,” the Man Utd boss said. “He got a great personality in the dressing room. He’s always someone that the other guys go to seek out. He’s a world champion, of course, and I think that he’s at his best level at the moment.”
Pogba’s numbers in the Burnley match made for impressive reading as he led the fixture in a number of domains, both offensively and defensive.
No-one had as many touches or completed as many passes as the Frenchman, who also won most duels and most aerial duels.
The display, though, was a far cry from some outings this term. In total, he has played 22 times for United in the 2020/21 season. He has scored three goals and assisted three more.
Juventus continue to be linked with him, while Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are cited as other possible destinations.
