Who is Bayern Munich and Juventus transfer target Kwadwo Baah?
Rochdale winger Kwadwo Baah is in the midst of an impressive season for the English League One side and has apparently attracted the interest of some of Europe’s biggest clubs in the process.
According to a report in The Athletic, Juventus, Bayern Munich, Rangers and West Ham are all monitoring the 18-year-old’s situation at the club and could be tempted to try and sign him.
Unfortunately for the League One club, Baah’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season. Which means any of the aforementioned interested parties could approach the young player and offer him a move next season.
So who exactly is Baah and why are so many clubs showing a sudden interest in a League One winger?
Although Baah was born in the small town of Horb am Neckar in the southwest of Germany, the player grew up in London and was quickly incorporated into Crystal Palace’s youth academy.
However, the player’s time at the club was perhaps marred by an incident as a ball boy, when Baah tried to stop West Ham goalkeeper Adrian from time wasting by placing the ball in the six yard area for the keeper.
The clip of Baah went viral on social media, but fast forward four years and the young player’s name now tends to pop up on Twitter, Facebook or YouTube alongside a compilation of his skills and talent for Rochdale.
Baah joined the club in September 2019 after signing a scholarship contract at the age of 16. One month later he was already making his first team debut, appearing as a late substitute in an EFL Trophy clash with Bolton Wanderers.
Although the winger picked up sporadic appearances last season, it’s been this current campaign that has seen the best of Baah at Rochdale. In just 13 league games for the club, Baah has already picked up three goals and two assists and has since started five of his team’s last seven games in League One.
While there’s little doubt that Baah is still learning his trade at Rochdale, the speed with which the winger has established himself as a first-team regular is undoubtedly what has attracted a number of bigger clubs.
Whether the young player decides to stay put in League One or sings for the likes of Juventus or Bayern Munich remains to be seen, but he undoubtedly looks like a player with a very bright future.
