How did Real Madrid target Erling Haaland play this weekend?
Erling Haaland, a reported target of Real Madrid for a transfer in the summer of 2021, featured for Borussia Dortmund this weekend in a Bundesliga match against Schalke.
A couple of days previous, the Norwegian was in sensational form for Dortmund in the Champions League, firing two past Sevilla in the first leg of the last 16 tie against the Spanish outfit.
He kept up his form over the weekend, as Dortmund defeated Schalke 4-0, having previously failed to win their last two Bundesliga matches.
Haaland scored two of the goals, taking his tally to 17 strikes in the Bundesliga and 27 in all competitions for the 2020/21 campaign.

One of the reasons Haaland is such a wanted man among Europe’s top clubs is that he seemingly has, well, everything you would want from a centre-forward; power, pace, finishing ability, and, as he proved against Schalke, the ability to pull something spectacular out of nowhere.
Dortmund took the lead through Jadon Sancho and it would be Haaland who would make it 2-0 in the 45th minute.
Sancho sends a relatively speculative ball into the box and Haaland leaps into the air and shifts his body to send a quite fantastic left-footed volley bouncing into the bottom left corner. The Schalke defence and goalkeeper could only sit and watch as the big Norwegian took advantage of the half-chance in emphatic fashion.
Dortmund created numerous chances throughout the game and eventually won 4-0, with Haaland scoring the fourth and final goal in the 79th minute in much more simple circumstances than his first, as he tapped home from a yard out following the fizzed ball across the six-yard box from Jude Bellingham.
As usual, he was a menace to the opposition defence, as his simple presence was enough to put the frighteners on the Schalke backline, as highlighted by his duels won tally (6/8) and aerial duels won tally (2/3).
Haaland successfully completed two dribbles, but surprisingly didn’t have the most touches in the opposition box for Dortmund, with Marco Reus’ tally of seven beating his six.
