Man Utd wonderkid Amad Diallo to make senior debut against Real Sociedad?
Manchester United wonderkid Amad Diallo will travel to Turin for their upcoming Europa League round of 16 tie against Real Sociedad.
The 18-year-old winger is regarded as one of the most exciting young players in Europe and moved to Manchester United in a big-money transfer in January.
The Red Devils splashed out a potential fee of €40 million for the teenager from Atalanta, despite him featuring in only five senior games for the Italian side.
The youngster then followed that up with a hat-trick of assists and another goal in the 6-4 victory over Blackburn two weeks ago.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been more patient in exploring the winger’s talents than many had expected but the Norwegian has expressed his admiration for the player.
“Very good. He can handle the ball, he has enjoyed training and makes a difference in training, which is quite remarkable at his age,” Solskjaer said.
“There will need to be some adjustment to settle into the hustle and bustle of the physical part of the Premier League but I can’t see it being too long until he’s in the squad.”
The Ivorian will be hoping that, with Edinson Cavani, Paul Pogba and Donny Van de Beek out, now could the time to make his mark and earn a regular place in the team.
There is, of course, the added pressure of knowing a successful run of games from now until the end of the season could potentially put a halt to rumours of a right-wing signing this summer and seal Diallo’s place in the lineup for good.
