Aouar set to leave Lyon for Juventus in De Sciglio switch
Houssem Aouar appears headed for a move to Juventus this summer with Mattia De Sciglio set to extend his stay at Lyon.
Juve are keen on the midfielder and think De Sciglio, who is currently on loan with the French club, will be key in beating rivals Arsenal, Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain to a deal, according to Tuttosport,
Aouar to Juve?
Since breaking into the first-team squad in 2017, Aouar has found himself at the heart of a Lyon team that has regularly featured in the Champions League, most notably beating Manchester City in the quarter-finals last season.
As for this season, Aouar made a positive start but missed Lyon’s last match against PSG with a muscle injury and hasn’t played a full 90 minutes since February 6 against Strasbourg.
However, he remains on the radar of Europe’s top clubs and could offer a more creative option to a fairly pedestrian Juve midfield that failed to overcome Porto a fortnight ago.
So, with two years left on his contract, it seems now is the time for Lyon to cash in and for Aouar to start the next chapter of a promising career.
De Sciglio to Lyon?
De Sciglio is currently on loan at Lyon and has expressed his desire to stay with the club beyond the end of the current campaign.
“I would like to stay here. But I know it depends on me, on Lyon and on Juve. We’ll see what happens at the end of the year,” he said in a recent interview.
The Italian international, who has been deployed at both left and right-back, has played 22 times as Lyon look to challenge Mauricio Pochettino’s PSG.
The Old Lady believe that De Sciglio can be deciding factor is getting a potential deal over the line.
