Cavani urged to ditch Man Utd for Boca Juniors by Uruguay coach
Edinson Cavani has been urged to quit Manchester United in the summer for Boca Juniors by the assistant manager of the Uruguay national team.
The towering striker only made the move to Old Trafford in the summer, following seven years at Paris Saint-Germain.
Cavani only signed a one-year contract with Man Utd when he made the move to England, which means his deal is set to expire at the end of this current campaign.
Although the Uruguay international has enjoyed spells of good form at Man Utd, he’s only started 13 games in all competitions for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer this season.
And as such, the 34-year-old striker is being urged by his country’s assistant manager, Mario Rebollo, to make the move to a club like Boca Juniors so he can get more game time next season.

“It helps the national team if Cavani goes to Boca or wherever,” the Uruguay coach told 2 De Punta.
“The priority is that he plays where he is comfortable and with a good competitive level. If he’s close to here it’d be great, but if he’s not comfortable he would not bear it much.
“It would be good for us if Cavani plays where he feels most comfortable. It makes no difference to me if it’s Boca or another place, just where he’s better.
“We have to have him with rhythm and competition.”
How good has Cavani been at Man Utd this season?
Although few would suggest that Cavani should be starting every week for Man Utd, there’s little doubt that the senior striker has been an important part of the squad this season.
In 26 appearances for the Premier League club in all competitions, Cavani has bagged seven goals and two assists.
While that return may not be as much as Marcus Rashford or Bruno Fernandes have managed this season, it’s still equal to Anthony Martial’s return for the season and suggests that Cavani would be a hard player to replace if he were to leave this summer.
