Doig doing his best to ignore interest from Chelsea, Arsenal and Man City
Hibernian left-back Josh Doig hopes to use the apparent interest shown in him from the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester City to boost his performances next season.
The 19-year-old defender has been something of a revelation in Scottish football this season, with one goal and four assists for Jack Ross’ Hibs side.
Despite his young age, Doig has established himself as a key player at Easter Road and become one of the Scottish Premiership’s most impressive young players.

So much so, that the Edinburgh-born talent recently won the Scottish Football Writers’ Association Young Player of the Year award earlier this month.
Indeed, such performances have attracted interest from bigger clubs down south, with reports in England linking the young talent with a surprise move to Arsenal, Chelsea or Manchester City this summer.
However, the Scotland U21 international is doing his best to ignore the speculation and will simply try and use any interest shown in him as proof that he’s doing something right.
Doig: It’s a confidence boost to see big teams are interested
“I do see the stuff on Twitter, you are always going to come by it. I just let it by me, I don’t really focus on it too much,” the Hibs star told Sky Sports.
“I know people are always going to talk if you are a young player and doing alright in the team, but you can’t look too much into it.
“You get your pals messaging you saying this and that is happening, but by mum and dad will never mention much and they will keep me grounded.
“I’m not focusing on it too much. It’s a massive confidence boost for myself, obviously, seeing big teams are interested. I can just use that to give myself a confidence boost and use it in my game. Big teams are looking so why not use that as a confidence booster.”
