'Greenwood will score MORE than Rooney at Man Utd'
Manchester United youngster Mason Greenwood has been tipped to surpass Wayne Rooney’s club-record goal tally by a Premier League legend.
Arsenal hero Ian Wright believes Greenwood is destined for greatness at Old Trafford and has something up his sleeve that a number of the club’s all-time top scorers didn’t.

Wright feels the importance of Greenwood having come all the way through the academy at United will spur him on further.
“When you look at what Mason is doing there, the numbers are amazing,” he said on the Kelly & Wrighty Show.
"You look at the other people on that list (United’s all-time top scorers), they are unbelievable. What they didn’t go through that Mason has is being at Manchester United from a young age, getting through that academy and into the first-team.
"He’s putting in performances and getting numbers. If that’s a sign of things to come from him, it’s frightening to think what he will end up doing because he’s done a lot already.
"He just seems ready now. I feel that in not long he’s going to be blasting past those other guys' numbers."
Greenwood has scored 18 Premier League goals for the Red Devils and netted 30 times in 106 games in all competitions.
Greenwood can make Manchester United history
Still at just 19 years of age, the amount of appearances alone is impressive alongside a goal tally that is continuing to grow.
His latest strike was another indication of his talent – a crisp left-footed strike that flew in off the post from a tight angle in United’s 5-1 opening day romp of rivals Leeds United.
Rooney scored 253 times for United, with 183 of those coming in the Premier League. Together with his 25 goals across two stints at Everton, Rooney is the second all-time leading Premier League goal scorer behind Alan Shearer.
Rooney surpassed Sir Bobby Charlton’s long-time record of 249 goals in 2017, and Greenwood will have his eyes on hunting both of those tallies down and etching his name alongside the greats of the club.
