Camavinga & the world’s 10 highest valued teenagers
Rennes wonderkid Eduardo Camavinga has joined Real Madrid on deadline day.
The 18-year-old is considered as one of the best young players that French football has produced in years and he has now made a €30 million-plus move to the Spanish capital.
FootballTransfers' transfer valuations are calculated in collaboration with SciSports, a world-leading football analytics agency that assesses the relative transfer valuations of over 60,000 professional footballers worldwide. SciSports use multiple data points including current and potential ability, contract length, form, age, and other crucial factors.
So which teenagers have the highest price tag, according to Football Transfers’ transfer valuation system?
Barcelona midfielder Pedri, 18, is number one in the ranking at €74.8m after a stunning rise over the past year for Barcelona and Spain, with whom he was named Young Player of the Tournament at Euro 2020.
His club team-mate Ansu Fati, who has seen his progress stall due to injury this year, is second at €63.2m.
Completing the podium is Bukayo Saka at €55.3m. The 19-year-old is one of the most versatile players around and was arguably Arsenal’s best player last season, although he suffered Euro 2020 heartbreak by missing the decisive penalty in the final shootout loss to Italy.
Two German-based players are next on the list. Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz is valued at €54.1m, with Borussia Dortmund’s Giovanni Reyna - the son of another former U.S star Claudio - fifth at €53.1m.
Camavinga is sixth at €50.3m, showing that Real Madrid have got themselves a bargain by signing the teenager for around €20m less than his value. This, of course, was affected by fact his contract was due to expire in a year.
Manchester United star Mason Greenwood is the seventh highest-valued player in our list at €48.5m, although his price will surely rise if he continues as he is currently playing.
Completing the top 10 are Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham (€45.1m), Rennes winger Jeremy Doku (€34m) and Ajax central midfielder Ryan Gravenberch (€33.5m).
