Laporta fuels Salah and Lewandowski transfer reports
Barcelona president Joan Laporta has added more fuel to the fire with regards to reports linking Mohamed Salah and Robert Lewandowski with summer moves to the club.
The Blaugrana are in the middle of a squad rebuild under Xavi, and although they signed forwards Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Ferran Torres in the January transfer window, a new world-class striker remains a priority for the summer.
Barca are currently making approaches to understand whether a summer deal is possible for Lewandowski.
But Lewandowski is not the only world-class attacker that Barcelona have been associated with.
FootballTransfers also understands that Barca are working on a deal for Leeds winger Raphinha as a replacement for Ousmane Dembele, who is set to leave on a Bosman Transfer this summer if a new contract can’t be agreed upon.
But a more expensive option is Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah.
The Egyptian sees his contract at Anfield expire in 2023 and talks over a renewal are not going well.
Barcelona have been heavily linked with bringing Salah to Camp Nou this summer.
What did Laporta say?
"Top players want to join Barça, that's clear", Laporta told RAC1 when asked about signing Lewandowski and Salah.
"I can't say if we're in talks for Lewandowski and Salah or not because inside the club they'll tell me that I'm creating problems in the negotiations.”
Barca have been incredibly active in 2022, signing Ferran Torres, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Adama Traore in January.
Laporta also as good as confirmed on Monday that Barca have signed Milan’s Franck Kessie and Chelsea’s Andreas Christensen on Bosman Transfers this summer.
