There is now just over a month to go before the Serie A summer transfer window opens its doors on July 1.

This is also the date where players with expiring contracts become free agents – and there are an unprecedented number of Italy-based stars whose deals are set to run out.

Messi, Pirlo, Ramos and the biggest Bosman transfers of all time

In this article, we will run down five high-profile Serie A players who will almost certainly be leaving their current clubs on a Bosman Transfer.

Paulo Dybala (Juventus)

Paulo Dybala will leave Juventus on a Free Transfer on July 1 after seven years as a club symbol.

Juventus and Dybala had agreed a new contract worth around €10 million a year towards the end of 2021 but pen was never put to paper officially.

Juventus then attempted to change the terms as they were concerned by Dybala’s constant injury problems – he has suffered six physical problems in 2021-22.

Eventually, after weeks of delayed talks, Juventus eventually announced that they will not renew Dybala's contract.

Rivals Inter are in advanced talks to sign a player who broke down in tears at his Juventus farewell appearance.

Franck Kessie (Milan)

Barcelona have already completed their first two signings for the 2022-23 season, with club president Joan Laporta announcing that they have snapped up a midfielder and a defender.

They have not yet been officially confirmed but all reliable sources report that these two players are AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie and Chelsea defender Andreas Christensen.

Both players have penned pre-contracts in order to join Barcelona on a Bosman Transfer this summer.

Milan had offered Kessie a contract renewal worth €5m per season but the Ivory Coast international demanded €9m in order to stay.

Contract talks between Kessie and Milan thus collapsed at the end of 2021 and he has agreed to join Barcelona.

Lorenzo Insigne (Napoli)

Lorenzo Insigne will leave his hometown and boyhood side Napoli after a glittering 16-year career at the southern club.

It was announced in January that Insigne would be seeing out his contract at Napoli and joining MLS side Toronto on a Bosman Transfer in July.

Insigne has signed a lucrative deal that will see him earn €11.5 million a year over four seasons.

At the age of 31, he represents one of the biggest transfers in MLS history.

Andrea Belotti (Torino)

Andrea Belotti is almost certain to leave Torino this summer after seven years in which he has scored over 100 goals for the club.

Due to turn 29 this year, Belotti knows this is the last chance for him to either make a transfer to a major club or receive a big payday.

A number of Serie A teams are interested in snapping him up but there is also a chance that he follows Insigne to Toronto, with the MLS side keen to sign another Italian.

Alessio Romagnoli (Milan)

Alessio Romagnoli will leave AC Milan this summer after both parties ended contract negotiations.

Romagnoli lost his place in the Milan starting XI over the last year to Fikayo Tomori and the Rossoneri have been in talks to sign Lille’s Sven Botman to replace the Italian.

It seems likely that Romagnoli will join the team he supported as a boy, Lazio. The Romans are in negotiations with the centre back and expected to complete a deal, despite Romagnoli taking a pay cut.
