Bayern Munich have slapped a massive price tag of €70-80 million on Robert Lewandowski in a bid to ward off interest from Barcelona.

That is according to Italian transfer journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, who reports that Bayern have made it clear that Barca will have to pay a huge amount to sign the Polish striker this summer.

Di Marzio also claims that Barcelona are unwilling to bid more than €30m for the Bayern star, which represents a huge gap between the two parties.

Lewandowski turns 34 in August and thus Barcelona are wary of spending too much on a player who only has a few seasons left at the top of the game with no sell-on value.

The forward’s future at Bayern is very much in doubt as his contract at the club expires in 2023, with talks over a new deal not making any progress.

FootballTransfers first reported last month that Barcelona had made Lewandowski their top summer striker target after cooling their interest in Erling Haaland.

And an explosive report in Poland on Monday claimed that the striker had even agreed a deal to join Barcelona this summer.

But FootballTransfers also understands that Lewandowski has not yet signed a pre-contract agreement with the Camp Nou side or agreed to join them.

Lewandowski’s entourage are in talks with Barcelona, though, and a summer transfer is certainly a possibility.

Bayern would consider selling him if a new contract can’t be agreed in order to prevent losing him for nothing next year.

But there is currently a massive gap between what Bayern want and what Barcelona would be prepared to pay.

Lewandowski is understood to be open to joining Barcelona in order to experience one last challenge and payday of his career.
