Sterling better than Salah & Saka? Raheem is Chelsea's dream signing
Chelsea are in negotiations to sign Raheem Sterling from Manchester City in a deal that could be closed for as low as €40 million.
Sterling’s contract at the Etihad expires in the summer of 2023, so City know that they must sell the 27-year-old this summer or risk losing him for nothing in a year’s time.
Meanwhile, Chelsea are hoping for a very busy transfer window, with numerous players likely to arrive under Todd Boehly’s new ownership.
The American is determined to back Thomas Tuchel, who has already guided The Blues to Champions League success, in hopes of contending for the Premier League title next campaign.
And Sterling, who has has won four of the last five league titles with Man City, would be an excellent addition to the German's squad.
Sterling better than Salah & Saka?
Raheem Sterling registered 13 goals and six assists in the Premier League this season, one more contribution than Arsenal's Bukayo Saka.
Though, Sterling's tally fell a long way short of Mohamed Salah's 36 in 35 appearances.
However, the 26-year-old is the best winger in the league, according to SciSports - a leading provider of football data intelligence.
Now, ranking Sterling ahead of Ballon d'Or contender Salah, with his outrageous production level, seems far-fetched.
But, besides he and Tottenham's Heung-Min Son, the Englishman could well be the next best.
Indeed, he has reached double figures for goals in each of the last five seasons, scoring 78 times in total.
So, he would be the next man in a long list of names to be signed as Chelsea's answer to their goalscoring conundrum.
The Blues did score 76 goals in this season's Premier League, which is no mean feat, but in order to catch City's tally of 99, they are going to need a more dependable finisher.

The odd thing about Sterling's game is that he actually misses a lot of chances - plenty of simple ones too.
But, the forward's ability to get himself into goalscoring positions is as good as anyone in the league. This is exactly what Chelsea are lacking.
The likes of Mason Mount and Kai Havertz look good when getting involved in the play, but need someone to finish off the chances that they create.
£100m summer signing Romelu Lukaku was supposed to be the answer, but that has proven not to be the case.
So, with Sterling's contract running out at the end of next season, now is the time for Boehly's Chelsea to make a move for the England international.
