Barcelona buy Raphinha, Chelsea sign Sterling – Wednesday’s transfer round up

The summer transfer window continues to hot up, with two huge deals being completed on Wednesday in Europe.

A number of other big deals are also getting closer to completion.

Barcelona sign Raphinha

Barcelona have announced an agreement to sign Leeds United winger Raphinha, beating out Chelsea for the highly-rated Brazilian.

Raphinha sparked a fierce transfer battle involving the player and all three clubs, following a disagreement with Leeds over his transfer destination.

He is now joining Barcelona for a fee of €65 million.

Chelsea sign Sterling

Manchester City star Raheem Sterling has officially completed his €56 million transfer to Chelsea.

He has signed a five-year contract at Stamford Bridge until 2027.

Sterling has been at the Etihad Stadium since moving from Liverpool in 2015 and has played a big part in the most successful period in club history under Pep Guardiola.

Koulibaly to join Chelsea

Kalidou Koulibaly is also moving to Chelsea.

The Napoli man-mountain has agreed a €40 million move to Stamford Bridge, ending eight incredible years in Serie A.

De Jong’s pay cut row

Barcelona have told Frenkie de Jong that if he doesn’t join Manchester United, then he must take a pay cut in order to stay with the Blaugrana.
