It was a relatively quiet day in the transfer market by usual standards but there was still plenty to talk about.

The biggest story circulating right now is the race between Chelsea and Barcelona for Sevilla defender Jules Kounde. Meanwhile, Man Utd are preparing a move for a wonderkid.

Barcelona win Kounde race

Barcelona have won the race to sign Jules Kounde from Sevilla, according to multiple reports in the Spanish media on Sunday evening.

Barca have been battling it out with Chelsea for the past fortnight to sign the centre back.

Manchester United are monitoring Salzburg starlet Benjamin Sesko, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Sesko is only 19 and has been tagged as the “next Erling Haaland”.

Florentino Perez, Joan Laporta and Andrea Agnelli met in Las Vegas on Saturday, potentially to discuss the next steps for a European Super League.

That is according to Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that the presidents of Real Madrid, Barcelona and Juventus, respectively, arranged a lunch meeting in Sin City.

Pogba already injured at Juventus

Paul Pogba has only played one game since returning to Juventus and he is already injured.

The midfielder made his second debut for the club on Friday as Juventus beat Guadalajara 2-0 in Nevada, with Pogba impressing in the centre of the field.

However, Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Pogba pulled up in afternoon training on Saturday during an exercise and beckoned the medical team. He then limped off the pitch, helped by two staff members, but did give a thumbs up to coach Max Allegri as he left.

Messi could return to Barcelona

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has suggested that he plans to bring Lionel Messi back to the club before the end of his playing career.

Messi completed a shock Free Transfer to PSG last summer after he was unable to sign a new contract with Barcelona.
