The allegations come after the replacement of the quartet of Polish referees who were originally appointed by the KED (refereeing federation) to officiate in the AEK - ARIS match. Olympiacos claims that the referees' replacement was caused by a "corruption circuit" within the EPO. The club stated, "Everyone knows what has happened with the replacement of the quartet of Polish referees who were originally appointed by the K.E.D. to run that particular game.

The statement by Olympiacos includes a series of questions aimed at EPO and KED officials, including "On what regulatory basis was the replacement of the Referees of the match?" and "Did Mr. Bennett confirm with the airline the incident that allegedly took place during the flight?"

Reports suggest that UEFA are investigating the case of the Polish referees who EPO replaced for AEK vs Ari

The Greek government has repeatedly vowed to clean up football in the country, but many fans remain sceptical about the effectiveness of these efforts.
