Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has been monitored by a host of sides over the years, having been an integral part of Lazio’s team since joining them in 2015 from Genk.

The Serbian is renowned for his goalscoring capabilities from midfield as well as his industrious playstyle which makes him able to contribute at both ends of the pitch, leading to plenty of interest in the 28-year-old.

However, Lazio have always valued Milinkovic-Savic highly, often quoting teams a price of £88 million, putting a swift end to negotiations despite significant interest.

But the midfielder is entering into the final year of his contract and he looks unlikely to sign an extension, prompting Lazio to consider bids of £44m, according to Gazzetta Della Sport.

The report also claims that the player’s agent is trying to secure a deal for £31m in order to push a transfer through, with Juventus and Newcastle also thought to be interested.

Premier League teams set to pounce on versatile star

Arsenal are believed to be in the market for two midfielders this summer, with concerns over the fitness of players such as Thomas Partey and Mohamed Elneny, potentially leaving the club lacking depth in the middle.

Man Utd are also keen to pair Casemiro with a more creative option in midfield and are believed to have held the strongest interest in Milinkovic-Savic over the years.

A complete midfielder with a strong physical presence, Milinkovic-Savic has been at his creative best for Lazio in recent years, grabbing 19 assists since the start of last season.

He has also scored four times this season, having grabbed 11 Serie A goals last year, and can play behind the striker as well as in a holding midfield role.
