Barcelona set for SHOCK signing of Chelsea flop
Barcelona have been tipped to make a surprise summer move to re-sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, after the Chelsea flop was seen celebrating Sunday's El Clasico win with his former Barca teammates.
Aubameyang only left Barca last summer, but the ex-Arsenal striker has made little impact since his deadline-day return to the Premier League.
In 18 appearances for Chelsea, the 33-year-old has found the net just three times; those goals came in his third, fourth and fifth outings, way back in October.
And it seems as though several clubs are keen to rescue Aubameyang from his Stamford Bridge nightmare come the end of the season.
The Evening Standard claim that Barcelona are open to the possibility of bringing the former Gabon captain back to the Camp Nou, with Atletico Madid and AC Milan also said to be interested.
That's after Aubameyang was seen joining in the post-match celebrations after Barca beat Real Madrid 2-1 on Sunday night to go 12 points clear of their arch-rivals at the top of LaLiga.
Chelsea boss Graham Potter has repeatedly stated that Aubameyang remains in his plans – but the fact remains that the veteran forward has played barely 120 minutes of football this calendar year.
In fact, he hasn't started a game since before the World Cup, with Kai Havertz becoming Potter's clear first-choice to lead the line.
That said, competition for places in Xavi's Barca team is only fiercer: a certain Robert Lewandowski has enjoyed a solid first campaign for the Blaugrana, top-scoring in LaLiga with 15 goals.
If Aubameyang does head back to Catalonia, he's certainly not going to walk straight into the starting 11.
