‘Chelsea like Keeping Up with the Kardashians’ – Twitter reacts to Lampard’s return
The Chelsea soap opera goes on, with Frank Lampard now in position to take temporary charge of the Stamford Bridge club until the end of the season.
The sacking of Graham Potter has opened up a void at the club that the board is clearly in no hurry to occupy.
Amid reports that Luis Enrique, Julian Nagelsmann and Mauricio Pochettino have opened talks with the Premier League side, Chelsea are set to turn towards club legend Frank Lampard to steady the ship.

To many, the move is a strange one. Lampard previously had a spell in charge of the Blues from 2019-21 which was ultimately a failure and paved the way to Thomas Tuchel taking charge, while he has subsequently been sacked as Everton boss.
Others, though, believe that Lampard is exactly the figure that Chelsea need to provide impetus into a season in which they find themselves in the middle part of the Premier League table.
What is undeniable, though, is that this is elite level drama.

Rumours of Lampard’s return being laughed off as a big joke followed by the idea becoming very serious just hours later may be the ultimate meta Lampardian transition.

As much as I don't like Frank Lampard, him coming in and doing alright so he gets offered the permanent job is undoubtedly the funniest timeline https://t.co/WzWZxxO4hp

Ashley Cole & John Terry could join Lampard at Chelsea till the end of the season. Don’t care what anyone says, having 3 legends for the last 10 games would be elite man.
