Fabrizio Romano - Man Utd now face competition for Frimpong
Manchester United face competition for Jeremie Frimpong by the way of Bayern Munich and Barcelona.
That’s according to Fabrizio Romano, who detailed where things are at with the Dutch right-back.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, the Italian transfer guru said: “His agent met not just with Man Utd, but Barcelona. But Barca have issues with FFP so it was just talks, no bid or such yet. Bayern also spoke with Frimpong and his agent. But the player is attracted to a move back to England, because he started his career in the Premier League with Man City. Let’s see if bids do arrive but Frimpong is one to watch.”

Indeed, it seems that though there is rival interest, Man Utd seem the most likely to buy Frimpong ahead of the summer transfer window.
Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s situation remains unclear, with the former Crystal Palace defender having hit good form since the new year, but the sounds are that he will be leaving in the summer window if Man Utd can fetch a good price.
Erik ten Hag appears determined to bring in fresh legs for that position and will be trying to source a fitting prospect into the fold ahead of next season.
Man Utd lead the race
It comes after Romano spoke of the situation in his CaughtOffside column. He wrote: “Manchester United have Jeremie Frimpong on their radar since October, he’s appreciated but it will also depend on the situation of Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
“I reported two days ago that his agent also met with Bayern and Barcelona, these were normal meetings and it’s still no time for official bids or negotiations, also because Bayern have not made any decision yet on João Cancelo and Barça are still quiet due to Financial Fair Play.”
