Nottingham Forest’s Danilo shows Man Utd-linked Moises Caicedo up with colossus display
Nottingham Forest were thought to be dead and buried - but after a surprise win against Brighton, they find themselves outside the bottom three.
At the heart of their revival has been Danilo, bought for just £17.8million over the summer window, with the Midlands club fending off interest from the likes of Leeds and other Premier League clubs for the 21-year-old’s signature in the January window.
He was the standout performer and put in an outstanding display at the core of Forest's midfield against Brighton, helping them to a 3-1 over the south coast club. He was the best player on the pitch ahead of £70m-rated Moises Caicedo, who has been linked to the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool.

Some of his stats from last night include his superb goal, a 77% pass accuracy, two key passes, three accurate long balls, one big chance created, three shots, a 100% dribble success, one1 ground duel won, one clearance, one block, and two interceptions - it speaks of a colossus showing from the Reds man.
Steve Cooper will know his side have it all to do in their relegation run in - they still have five games to save their season, but the display against the Champions League-chasing Brighton side at their City Ground fortress is a brilliant foundation in which they can springboard from.
Forest fans gush after display
Been cooking for a while! Exceptional talent and edition to this team.

Outstanding second half performance. Danilo and Aurier unreal. The latter roaring into Mitoma and then thumping his chest in the 96th minute after six weeks out injured is exactly the level of fight I want for five more matches. #NFFC
