How much will Jude Bellingham earn at Real Madrid?
Jude Bellingham is edging closer to his move to Real Madrid after Liverpool and Manchester City stepped out of the race to sign the Dortmund midfielder.
Liverpool were believed to be front runners to sign Bellingham, having positioned their transfer business over the past two seasons in order to fund a move for the 19-year-old.
However, Dortmund’s asking price of more than €100 million has put teams off, leaving Real Madrid with a free run at Bellingham, with a deal expected to be closed soon.
REACTION: Dortmund manager Edin Terzic opens up on Bellingham deal
A report in Spanish outlet Cadena SER has detailed Real’s stance over the transfer, claiming that president Florentino Perez is determined ‘not to allow another world star to escape him’ after the failure to sign Kylian Mbappe last summer.
Bellingham’s preference was thought to be Liverpool, however the decision of Jurgen Klopp’s side to pull out of a move has seen Bellingham opt to join Real, having not been keen on a move to City.
Real Madrid are understood to have strong relations with Dortmund, meaning they are likely to close negotiations over a deal potentially worth €120m for Bellingham.
What contract will Real Madrid give Jude Bellingham?
The report in Spain claims that Bellingham will pen a six-year deal in Madrid, containing a release clause of €1 billion and a salary that would make him the club’s second-highest earner behind Eden Hazard.
Hazard is thought to be on wages of more than €400,000 a week and Bellingham is likely to be handed a deal worth slightly less, although terms are yet to be finalised.
WAGES: How much does each player earn at Real Madrid?
Reports from Germany suggest that Real and Dortmund are €30m apart in their valuations currently, with the Bundesliga outfit hoping for a deal that would amount to €150m including variables.
The figure is not expected to be an issue for Real, particularly with no other competitors for his signature, but they will likely continue to negotiate with Dortmund before eventually sealing a deal.
