Messi's father DENIES Saudi transfer with PSG future undecided
The father of Lionel Messi has claimed that nothing has been agreed despite reports that the Paris Saint-Germain forward will make a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia when his contract expires.
Messi is set to leave PSG at the end of the season and Barcelona have been keen to bring him back to the club despite their financial predicament, however reports broke this week that the Argentine had reached a ‘verbal agreement’ with Saudi side Al-Hilal.
FootballTransfers understands that no decision has been made by Messi and his father, who acts as the player’s agent, has now confirmed that information with a post on social media.
EXCLUSIVE: Messi to Saudi Arabia NOT done with Barcelona still hopeful
“There is absolutely nothing with any club for next year,” he wrote. “The decision will never be made before Lionel ends the league with PSG. Once the season is over it will be time to analyse and see what is there, and then make a decision.
“There are always rumours and many use the name of Lionel to gain notoriety, but the truth is only one and we can assure that there is nothing with anyone. Neither verbal, nor signed, nor agreed, and there will not be until the end of the season.
“It seems to me a lack of respect towards the media where they respond, that there are those who consciously and deliberately deceive, without providing any proof of their claims, and anting to turn any malicious rumour into news or that is directed by someone in favour of their interests.
“They would have to explain why they don't contrast the information. They don't want a truth to ruin their ‘news’."
Where will Messi end up next season?
Messi is an ambassador for Saudi Arabia’s tourism board and was recently suspended by PSG for an unauthorised trip to the country, however he returned to training this week after making a public apology.
PSG are thought to have decided against offering a new deal to Messi after his actions and the failure to achieve success in Europe during his time at the club, which has prompted a change in the club’s philosophy.
Messi is believed to prefer a move in Europe over a switch to Saudi Arabia or the MLS, where Inter Miami have been proposed, however he has received a staggering offer from Al-Hilal which could see him earn more than €300 million a year.

The 35-year-old is still keen on a return to Barca but will wait for the club to submit a La Liga-approved contract before making his decision, with the league currently preventing the Catalans from registering new signings.
