‘ANOTHER REPLAY’! - Liverpool fans blame VAR for robbing them again
For the second weekend in a row, Liverpool fans are up in arms at the referees and VAR.
And for the second weekend in a row, Liverpool fans feel that VAR has cost them valuable Premier League points.
Last week, of course, Reds supporters were furious about Luis Diaz's disallowed goal against Tottenham Hotspur.

With the scores level in London, the Colombian's goal was incorrectly ruled out for offside by the on-field referees and despite VAR determining that he was onside, the goal did not stand.
Tottenham went on to win the game 2-1 and Liverpool were furious.
The PGMOL faced a severe backlash in the aftermath of the game and released the VAR audio for the public to hear, which showed a catalogue of errors from the VAR team.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp even bizarrely asked for the match to be replayed.
Incredibly, on Sunday, Liverpool were once again involved in a controversial refereeing call at Brighton that had a big impact on the outcome of the game.
With the scores level at 1-1, Liverpool were awarded a penalty after Pascal Gross hauled back Dominik Szoboszlai’s shirt in the box.
Liverpool fans believe this was a deliberate prevention of a goal-scoring opportunity and thus Gross should have been sent off. However, Gross escaped and VAR did not intervene, either.
Although Salah scored the penalty to put Liverpool 2-1 up, Lewis Dunk equalised in the second half to earn Brighton a 2-2 draw.
All over social media, Liverpool fans were again blaming the referees for their team dropping two more points.
Don't worry, we'll get an apology after the game. https://t.co/69eOO48cPK

Result aside, Pascal Gross not being sent off for denying Szoboszlai is another criminal offence from Anthony Taylor and VAR. If that was against us, it would’ve went to VAR and a red card. Officiating still has not improved last week.

A clear goal-scoring opportunity denied by a shirt pull, rules say that is a sending off. No double jeopardy in play with that. Gross didn’t even get a caution.
In the words of Mike Dean: “It’s the law! That is the law and you cannot change the law.” 🤷♂️https://t.co/9iBTyfs9by— This Is Anfield (@thisisanfield) October 8, 2023
Klopp on Gross potential red: "I don't know... don't talk to me about the rules...."

Can someone explain to me how VAR didn't recommend a red card for the denial of a clear goal scoring opportunity and no attempt to play the ball for Pascal Gross? Or does that rule only apply to Virgil Van Dijk? This is incredible. VAR has been so poor in Liverpool games.

Sorry but it’s another absolutely hideous call, under the DOGSO rule Gross should be off. Without the foul that’s being tapped in from 7 yards out. How did neither the on field ref, or more importantly the VAR not come to that conclusion? pic.twitter.com/hFVwmFxNFm

WOW.
Pascal Groß should have been sent off for pulling Szoboszlai’s shirt. VAR should have picked up on it.
Looks like we might be getting another statement from PGMOL. pic.twitter.com/3lmOcl3AZM— Watch LFC (@Watch_LFC) October 8, 2023
