Summer flop moves closer to January Arsenal transfer
Ousmane Dembele has moved a step closer to a January move to the Premier League, according to Fichajes.
Fichajes reports that PSG have been left disappointed by Dembele since his summer transfer from Barcelona.
The French winger has failed to score this season, contributing only two assists and largely underwhelming in his nine matches.
Arsenal have already been considering making a move in January and have now been given extra encouragement.
The Gunners are looking for an alternative to Bukayo Saka, who is the only option they have on the right wing.
Dembele's summer transfer to PSG
Dembele only signed for PSG this past summer after the Ligue 1 giants executed his release clause.
PSG paid the €50 million fee in his Barcelona contract to take him to the Parc des Princes.
Any transfer could come initially in the form of a loan, with Chelsea, Tottenham and West Ham also interested.
Dembele can play on the right or left wing, presenting an enticing option for Arteta.
PSG manager Luis Enrique has publicly stated that he supports Dembele but privately is not so impressed.
Dembele joined PSG six years after he had signed for Barcelona from Borussia Dortmund for €105m – a fee which only recently dropped out of the top 10 most expensive transfers of all time.
Dembele had a difficult time at Barcelona with injuries, although he had re-established himself as a key member of the Barcelona team last season, finishing as the La Liga champions’ joint leading provider with seven assists – as well as chipping in with five goals of his own.
