Real Madrid make SHOCK Mbappe transfer announcement
Real Madrid made a shocking on-the-record denial that they have been in negotiations with Kylian Mbappe after reports in Spain claimed that talks were already underway between them and the Paris Saint Germain forward.
Mbappe has long been linked with a move to Real, having been embroiled in a dramatic saga to join the La Liga giants last summer, and there have been suggestions that the PSG star has already agreed to move to Madrid when his contract expires next summer.
Real would not be able to formally approach Mbappe until January, when he has six months left on his contract, but a report by Spanish outlet AS stated that Real had already approved the salary the French captain would be receiving next season.
KOP BOUND?: Real Madrid rocked by Mbappe Liverpool revelation
While it is unclear if this is one of the reports being alluded to, Real released a statement on their website insisting that reports were ‘completely false’ and that Mbappe was still a ‘player who belongs to PSG’.
A statement read: “Given the information recently issued and published by different media outlets, in which there is speculation about alleged negotiations between the player Kylian Mbappé and our club, Real Madrid CF would like to state that this information is completely false and that no such negotiations have taken place with a player who belongs to PSG.
Mbappe set to earn three times the highest earner at Real – report
The report in AS claimed that Real would offer Mbappe a salary of €35 million net per season – three times higher than the club’s current top earners, with David Alaba and Toni Kroos making just under €11m a year.
AS state it would be ‘impossible’ for Mbappe to join Real for anything less as he is currently earns more than €60m at PSG and there is a ‘very calculated plan’ at the Bernabeu ‘executed to the millimetre’ in order to make room for his salary.

There is still said to be optimism at PSG that Mbappe will sign a new contract but the 24-year-old has already opted against taking up the one-year option in his current deal and it appears a matter of time before he completes his protracted transfer to Real.
