According to Sky Sports reports Kaveh Solhekol, Ten Hag has lost 50 per cent of the Manchester United squad.

Some of the main reasons for this are Ten Hag’s style of play, his militaristic training, his treatment of Jadon Sancho, and his man management.

What did Sky Sports say about Ten Hag?

Solhekol said: “Some of the players are confused about what is happening and he [Ten Hag] has lost elements of the dressing room. About 50% of the dressing room.

“Quite a few players are unhappy with the style of play. They feel they are training too hard and they are running too much during training. Players don’t know what they’re running for.

“A few players think he’s too set in his ways, he’s too robotic. And quite a few players are unhappy with the way Jadon Sancho has been treated and feel it’s gone too far.

“Senior players have spoken to Ten Hag about where they feel the club is going wrong.

“They’ve spoken to him about their experiences of playing at other big clubs. They maybe feel that he should be a little more touchy, feely. His man management could be a little bit better. However, he is not for turning.”

Ten Hag is under heavy pressure after Man Utd endured their worst start to a season in over 30 years.

They have won 10, lost one and lost 10 of their games in all competitions, are out of the League Cup and on the brink of exiting the Champions League.

Ten Hag has endured high profile fallouts at Man Utd since his arrival in 2022 with Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho, with reports of further bust-ups with Raphael Varane, Casemiro and Anthony Martial. The perceived lack of effort by Marcus Rashford against Newcastle has also been cited as due to a disconnect between player and coach.
