The agent of Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has delivered bad news for Chelsea, who are reportedly targeting the winger.

The Napoli sensation, who has endured a slow start to the season but finally showing his electric form from the season prior, is being monitored by Liverpool, Chelsea, and Manchester City, while Newcastle have also been linked previously.

Kvaratskhelia’s future was discussed by reporter Ciro Venerato, who said: “Kvara’s renewal, at the moment, is still on the high seas: the player wants a raise, which is delaying its arrival, but he will not leave Napoli, with De Laurentiis proposing a mega salary to postpone his transfer to 2025. A release clause could also be inserted for him, as happened with Osimhen. The number 77 is followed by big clubs, such as Barcelona, Chelsea, Liverpool and PSG.”

But at the beginning of the January transfer window, Kvaratskhelia’s agent, Mamuka Jugeli was interviewed about the player’s next destination, via SportsWitness, where he said his client would ‘probably agree to play’ for a team like Manchester City because he ‘wants to succeed’.

Obviously this means that Chelsea, who are enduring some torrid form, will be left out of the equation, given how poorly this season has gone for them.

The Blues Chelsea struggled to find any sort of success under the stewardship of Todd Boehly, while Liverpool and Man City are very much in contention for the Premier League title this season.

Will Chelsea sack Mauricio Pochettino?

It comes after the Guardian’s report that Mauricio Pochettino’s position at the club will be reviewed at the end of the season.

Chelsea are 11th in the Premier League but there is an acknowledgment among the hierarchy that he has had to contend with injuries all season.

But pressure has grown after Chelsea lost the Carabao Cup final to an injury-hit and inexperienced Liverpool side in extra time - now his future is likely to depend on whether Chelsea manage to secure a place in European football.
