Reece James to leave Chelsea? The state of play - Fabrizio Romano
Reece James is unlikely to leave Chelsea this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The Ligue 1 champions are very much interested in the 24-year-old, but we are told that the likelihood is that he will remain with Chelsea until the summer of 2025 at least.

We have been informed that James has strong ties to his roots and this is one of the reasons why a move to PSG may be complicated.
And this information is supported by Romano, who says that James is considered an important player by Chelsea.
What did Romano say?
“I don’t have anything on Reece James really either, the situation is really quiet,” Romano said to CaughtOffside for his Daily Briefing.
“I’m sure Chelsea will try to make a profit with some players, as it’s something needed because of FFP, but Reece has always been considered an important part of the project so all quiet on this one, full focus on recovery and total commitment on the player side.

“I expect Chelsea to be busy again in the transfer market, that’s for sure. It won’t be similar to January.”
There have been many reports in recent weeks that Chelsea may consider selling James this summer in order to ease their Financial Fair Play problems.
The Times reported at the weekend that the Blues are prepared to sell both Conor Gallagher and James this summer to avoid breaching spending regulations.
James’ constant injury problems have added to fears of Chelsea fans that the right wing-back could be sold.
The 24-year-old has not played since December due to a serious hamstring injury and has made just eight Premier League appearances this season.
Injuries have been a common theme of James’ career so far, and there is the worry that he may not play again this season.
James’ participation at Euro 2024 is therefore at serious threat.
James grew up in the Chelsea youth academy and has made 156 appearances, scoring 11 goals.
