Tuchel to Man Utd: Fabrizio Romano reveals state of play
Manchester United have not made any firm decisions yet on the future of Erik ten Hag and there is nothing concrete about the interest in Thomas Tuchel.
That is according to Fabrizio Romano, who has poured cold water on reports that Ten Hag would have been sacked if United had lost their FA Cup semi final against Coventry.
United threw away a 3-0 lead and survived a controversial disallowed goal in the last minute of extra time to beat the Championship team on penalties.

Following that scare, Kicker journalist Georg Holzner reported that United are making plans to replace the Dutchman with Bayern Munich manager Tuchel.
Tuchel will leave Bayern at the end of the season, but Romano says United’s interest is not concrete.
What did Romano say?
“Their final decision will be made closer to the end of the season,” Romano told The United Stand.

“I don’t think they would have any reaction after the game even if they lost to Coventry.
“Ineos keep their position, they are not having discussions with any managers yet. They are having internal discussions.
“There is nothing concrete at this point [with Tuchel]. There is many people at Ineos who appreciate many different managers.
“We heard the same about Potter, Southgate, many others, there are many.”
Ten Hag to be sacked?
Ten Hag is likely to be sacked by new Man Utd part-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe at the end of the season.
Ten Hag joined Man Utd in the summer of 2022 and enjoyed a decent first season as he took the club back into the Champions League, won the League Cup and reached the FA Cup final.
However, the 2023-24 campaign has been a total disaster for Ten Hag. United have lost 12 of their 32 Premier League games and have a negative goal difference.
They need a miracle to finish in the Champions League places, as they are 16 points behind fourth position with six games to go.
United went out of the League Cup early but worst of all were humiliated in the Champions League group stages.
Despite being drawn in one of the weaker groups together with Galatasaray and Copenhagen, they finished bottom of the pool as the Danes and Bayern Munich progressed.
United picked up just four points and conceded 15 goals, the most ever by an English team in the groups in the history of the tournament.
They are in the FA Cup final where they will play Manchester City.
